How to build this in Notion

  1. Give the database the right properties. Keep one row per invoice. You need a number property for the amount, a date property for the issue date, and a select property each for the client and the status. The invoice number can stay the title.
  2. Connect the database. Create an account, open Data sources and connect Notion. On Notion's screen, share the invoice database. ChartOmodo reads it and never writes to it.
  3. Build revenue by client. In the builder, pick Bar. Set X-axis (category) to client, Y-axis (value) to amount and the aggregation to Sum, then sort by value, descending, so the biggest client comes first.
  4. Add the month and status charts. Make a second chart with Line, the X-axis on issued and Date grouping set to Month. For the third, pick Donut, put status on the X-axis and choose Count.
  5. Embed it back in Notion. Copy the embed link from the builder, type /embed in your Notion page and paste it. The chart refreshes on a timer set by your plan, and sooner when Notion reports an edit.

Notion's own chart block draws bar, line and donut charts as well, and on Notion's Free plan it allows 1 chart. Charts built here do not count toward that, and the same chart can be embedded in as many Notion pages as you like.
